Hi everyone! I am a marketing major from Potomac, Maryland,  and I’m running to be our next Student Body President. Currently, I serve as the Student Liaison to the College Park City Council for the Student Government Association, am in Business DSAC, AEPi, ODK, and work as a marketing research assistant.

My Top Three Priorities for SGA Next Year:


1. Have UMD be a leader in Big 10 policy changes, specifically changing NCAA athlete transfer policy in relation to ongoing sexual misconduct cases.
2. Expand outreach efforts through enhanced town halls to ensure student representation.
3. Lead with empathy and honesty to ensure everyone at UMD has the resources they need to succeed.

My favorite song right now is Break My Heart by Dua Lipa.
Fun fact: I only have freckles on the right side of my forehead. My favorite dessert is ice cream.

Hello! I am a philosophy, politics, and economics and women's studies double major from Middletown, Maryland, and I’m running to be your next Student Body Vice President. Currently, I am in Student Entertainment Events, MaryPIRG Juvenile Justice, Preventing Sexual Assault, CIVICUS, Maryland Athletics IT Department, Stamp Advisory Board, and Federal Fellows.

My Top Three Priorities for SGA Next Year:


1. Effective communication and outreach to the UMD community.
2. Advocate on behalf of undocumented, immigrant, and first generation students.
3. Empowering minority and marginalized groups and creating coalitions within the campus community.

Fun fact: I love dancing and performing. I've performed at the Smithsonian, the World Bank, and at multiple embassies in DC. My favorite dessert is Chocolate covered fruit.

Hi! I am a finance and communication double major from Fort Washington, Pennsylvania, and I’m running to be your next Student Body Chief Financial Officer. Currently, I am in Terrapin Gaming Club and The Beekeeping Club. I have also been on the SGA Finance Committee for the past year as the committee's chair of appeals.

My Top Three Priorities for SGA Next Year:
1. More transparency from the finance committee
2. More outreach to help clubs get money
3. Better regulation of money to ensure it is more fairly spread

Hello! I am a Junior Computer Engineering major from Rockville, Maryland expected to graduate in Spring 2021, and I’m running to be your next Engineering Representative. Currently, I am in Alpha Omega Epsilon and the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers.

Hi there! I am a junior animal science major with a minor in sustainability from Eldersburg, Maryland expected to graduate in Fall 2021, and I’m running to be your next College of Agriculture and Natural Resources Representative. Currently, I am in Sigma Alpha (the Professional Ag Sorority), Pre-Vet Society, and an alumni of UMD College Park Scholars, Environmental, Technology, & Economy Branch.

My Top Three Priorities for SGA Next Year: 
1. Raise the standard for being a “green” university by having mandatory environmental education.
2. Improve the efforts of public health safety with more frequent cleanings or higher regard for public health at a large institution.
3. Make SGA more well known to the student body and fully understand SGA’s responsibilities at UMD and with the city of College Park.

My favorite song right now is Eleven- Klahr. It changes constantly.
Fun fact: I have done martial arts for 15 years, studying several arts and I have 3 black belts. My favorite dessert is anything chocolate (cake, candy, ice cream, cookies, you name it)

I am a sophomore music major in flute performance with an audiology health professional track from Silver Spring, Maryland expected to graduate in Spring of 2022, and I’m running to be your next College of ARHU Representative. Currently, I am in Residence Hall Association (RHA), College of Arts & Humanities Dean’s Advisory Board, School of Music Admissions Ambassador, the University of
Maryland Symphony Orchestra, the University of Maryland Wind Orchestra, and work at the Michelle Smith Performing Arts Library.

1. Creating and increasing cross-disciplinary work and efforts across majors, especially connecting the College of Arts & Humanities with STEM focused areas.
2. Promoting the Arts & Humanities' projects, events, and performances across campus, increasing support and attendance.
3. Increasing and preserving measures of inclusivity and diversity across campus, including within departments on campus who closely work with students and student life.

My favorite piece is Shostakovich- Symphony No. 10 in E minor, movement II. Allegro.
Fun fact: I performed for the Pope. My favorite dessert is Bread Pudding.

BSOS Representative

Hello! I am a sophomore criminology & criminal justice major from Frederick, Maryland expected to graduate in Spring 2021, and I’m running to be your next BSOS Representative. Currently, I am in the SGA Sexual Misconduct Prevention Committee.

My Top Three Priorities for SGA Next Year: 
1. Increasing the accountability of our student government and making more of an effort to work with students.
2. Improving UMD’s response to victims in our student community and the resources we provide them.
3. Ensuring that the Student Government is accessible to students and makes significant efforts to ensure we are representing the needs of our student body.

Fun fact: I came to UMD as a math major and have developed such a passion for victim services and reforming our criminal justice system that I made a transition to a criminology and criminal justice major and a pending double major in psychology with an anticipated graduation date one year early. CMNS Representative

Hi! I am a junior general biology major from Groningen, the Netherlands expected to graduate in Spring 2021, and I’m running to be your next CMNS Representative. Currently, I am involved in the University Senate, Global Fellows, Camp Kesem, and Undergraduate Teaching.

My Top Three Priorities for SGA Next Year:
1. The creation of data that can be distributed to the student body and used to advocate for specific student needs, such as more mental health resources, lower textbook prices, etc.
2. Continuous student outreach throughout the semester, especially with other student organizations and clubs.
3. Assisting a smooth transition to a new President and showing him that students truly care about the decisions the administration makes and that students want their voices to be heard.

Fun fact: I can wiggle my ears and I can solve a Rubik's cube in 30 seconds. My favorite dessert is cheesecake.

Hello! I am a sophomore Computer Science major from India expected to graduate in Spring 2022, and I’m running to be your next CMNS Representative. Currently, I am in Student Government Association, Residence Life UMD, Association for Women in Computing, and UMD Boxing Club.

Hello! I am a freshman computer science and physics double major from Collegeville, Pennsylvania expected to graduate in Spring 2023, and I’m running to be your next CMNS Representative. Currently, I am in the Student Government Association, Filipino Cultural Association, and Association for Computing Machinery.

 

My Top Three Priorities for SGA Next Year:
1. Breaking the social stigma around discussing mental illness, especially for students from cultures that do this; along with educating the university population on mental issues, signs, and underlying symptoms.
2. Honesty towards everyone, both within and outside of SGA, to prevent miscommunication.
3. Compassion towards all students at UMD regardless of race, gender, and background considering everyone comes from different backgrounds.

My favorite song is Empire State of Mind, by Jay-Z and Alicia Keys.
Fun fact: My favorite city I’ve traveled to has to be Bruges in Belgium, for its canals and beautiful architecture. My favorite dessert is Green Apple Water Ice (from Rita's).

Hello! I am a freshman finance and marketing double major from Laurel, Maryland expected to graduate in Spring 2023. I’m running to be your next Cambridge Community Representative. Currently, I am involved in the Vietnamese Student Association. I am a creatively driven person and love to contribute to UMD in the ways that I can.

2. To take in feedback and inputs through regular surveys and polls from students of

My Top Three Priorities for SGA Next Year:
1. Awareness for the concerns of immigrants/non-citizens.
2. Become familiar with situations/events around the community.
3. Awareness for the concerns of commuters.

Fun fact: I love horror. My favorite dessert is Cookies n Creme Hershey.

Hello! I am a junior undeclared major from Columbia, Maryland expected to graduate in Spring 2021, and I’m running to be your next Off-Campus Outlying Representative. Currently, I am in Student Government Association, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), and Snider Professional Development Society.

My Top Three Priorities for SGA Next Year:
1. Improving student life for transfer students.
2. Leading positive change in UMD community.
3. Assisting those in our community.

Fun fact: I left the country for the first time at 11 years old to go to Switzerland.

Hi! I am a sophomore economics major with sustainability and general business minors from Clarksburg, Maryland expected to graduate in Spring 2022, and I’m running to be your next Off-Campus Outyling Representative. Currently, I am in the Vietnamese Student Association, Alpha Lamba Delta Honors Society, and Delta Phi Epsilon Sorority.


My Top Three Priorities for SGA Next Year:
1. To represent the voices of students within the Off-Campus Community.
2. To take in feedback and inputs through regular surveys and polls from students of
different programs that are living off-campus and advocate for these inputs.
3. To promote SGA as a welcoming organization that values the opinions of all students including minorities and encourage them to be active on campus as much as possible.

Fun fact: I work two jobs on campus: Center for Global Business Assistant & University Career Center Counselor. My favorite dessert is banana pudding.

Commons Outlying Representative

Hi! I am a sophomore public policy major from Pascagoula, Mississippi expected to graduate in Fall 2021, and I’m running to be your next Commons Representative. Currently, I am the Senator for South Campus Commons in the Residence Hall Association and the Deputy Director of Diversity & Inclusion for the Student Government Association.

My Top Three Priorities for SGA Next Year:
1. Supporting and being a voice for Commons residents, especially in the wake of their treatment in the COVID-19 Pandemic.
2. Supporting and being a voice for transfer students.
3. Helping SGA and other governing bodies be more inclusive and diverse.

Fun fact: Despite being extremely clumsy, I have never broken or sprained any bone in my body!. My favorite dessert is brownies.
